A Vancouver man convicted of fraud has been permanently banned from B-C's investment market.
The B-C Securities Commission says a panel has concluded that Jeffrey Shaughnessy's misconduct was "extremely serious," and the man posed "a significant ongoing risk" to the public and the capital markets had the ban not been put in place.
The B-C-S-C says Shaughnessy has pleaded guilty in provincial court after convincing two couples to invest a total of 29-thousand-dollars in a speaking event.
The commission says Shaughnessy then spent the money on personal expenses, including at a casino, and has been sentenced to a three-month conditional sentence as a result
