B.C. Coroner Identifies Boater, Hiker Who Died In Separate Incidents

The Canadian Press, 09 Sep, 2015 11:34 AM
VANCOUVER — The BC Coroners Service has identified two men who died in separate incidents.

Sixty-seven-year-old Steven Munro died in a boating accident.

Munro's body was found floating in a channel near the Squamish Yacht Club on Friday, and his skiff was discovered overturned downstream.

The service says Munro owned a wooden sailboat that was moored across a channel from downtown Squamish and that he used a skiff to get back and forth from town to the boat.

The coroners service also says 26-year-old Burnaby resident Jason George died near Harrison Hot Springs on Saturday during a camping trip.

George was hiking in the area with friends when he climbed a cliff to get a better view of Rainbow Falls and fell to his death.
