A B-C company has forfeited 10 million dollars to the province over allegations it provided payment services for people around the world who ran scams aimed at elderly seniors.
Solicitor General Mike Farnworth says a settlement agreement with PacNet Services is the largest such confiscation in the history of its civil forfeiture program.
Part of the agreement includes no admission of unlawful activity on the part of PacNet.
Farnworth says the major forfeiture sends clear message that B-C will continue to take decisive action against suspected proceeds of crime
A new survey says an alarming number of kids age 12 and older have been treated for drug overdoses in Canada. The Canadian Paediatric Surveillance Program says stimulants are the most commonly reported cause of severe or life-threatening overdoses, followed by sedatives and opioids.

Two men who have been arrested for allegedly carjacking a delivery van in Richmond failed to consider that many of those vehicles come equipped with G-P-S tracking systems. R-C-M-P say it happened on Sunday when the driver said his van was taken at gunpoint by two people wearing masks.
