  • Baldev Singh Kalsi pleads guilty to manslaughter in 2014 death of wife
Baldev Singh Kalsi, former president of Gurudwara Sahib Brookside temple, who was charged with attempted murder of his wife, Narinder Kalsi, has pleaded guilty today.
 
Kalsi was arrested after his wife was found in severe medical distress at their home. He was removed as temple president four days later. Subsequently, Kalsi was charged with one count of aggravated assault for incurring life threatening injuries to his wife which was upgraded to attempted murder. 
 
Maple Ridge News reported that Baldev Singh Kalsi appeared in court Monday afternoon and heard that his counsel and the Crown agreed to a statement of facts that would be disclosed publicly at his next court appearance, set for Feb. 22, 2018.
 
Kalsi’s decision to enter a plea was confirmed last week during a brief appearance in B.C. Supreme Court in New Westminster.
