LA LOCHE, Sask. — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says five people have been killed and two critically injured in a school shooting in northern Saskatchewan.
Speaking from Davos, Switzerland, Trudeau said the alleged shooter is in custody and the situation is "no longer active."
But details are still scarce as the RCMP have not provided any information about the mid-day shooting at the La Loche Community School's high school building.

Trudeau called the shooting every parent's worst nightmare.
Premier Brad Wall issued a statement expressing shock and sorrow at what he called "the horrific events."
The school's junior and senior high school building was put in lockdown around 1 p.m. and Mounties asked parents and residents to stay away.
