Surrey RCMP is investigating an assault that has left a 33-year-old man with serious injuries. 

On Monday at 1:12 am, police were called to a residence in the 9000 block of 128 Street. Police located a man suffering serious injuries lying in the driveway of the residence.

Via a statement Mounties say the 33-year-old victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police are working to determine what led up to the victim being assaulted and injured.

Initial indications are that he had been attending a gathering in the area when he was chased away by a group of male suspects and assaulted. The suspects, described as three South Asian males, fled the area in a vehicle, believed to be a silver 4-door SUV.

Anyone with more information, including dash cam footage around the area, is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP.
