Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 06 Apr, 2015 02:06 PM
TRURO, N.S. — A 29-year-old woman has been charged with assault with a weapon for allegedly smearing a hot pizza into the face of another woman early Sunday morning in Truro, N.S.

Const. Andrew Frost of Truro police says a 22-year-old woman was burned by hot cheese and sauce from a pizza that had just been taken from an oven at a pizzeria.

Frost says the incident happened as the younger woman was in a line at the restaurant just after 2:15 a.m.

Police responded after receiving a call and Frost says they later located the alleged victim at a nearby bar.

He says the 29-year-old woman appeared at the police station Monday and was charged.

She was released on a promise to appear in Truro provincial court on May 13.
