Assault Charge Laid In Truno, Nova Scotia After Woman Allegedly Burned With Hot Pizza

    TRURO, N.S. — A 29-year-old woman has been charged with assault with a weapon for allegedly smearing a hot pizza into the face of another woman early Sunday morning in Truro, N.S.
     
    Const. Andrew Frost of Truro police says a 22-year-old woman was burned by hot cheese and sauce from a pizza that had just been taken from an oven at a pizzeria.
     
    Frost says the incident happened as the younger woman was in a line at the restaurant just after 2:15 a.m. 
     
    Police responded after receiving a call and Frost says they later located the alleged victim at a nearby bar.
     
    He says the 29-year-old woman appeared at the police station Monday and was charged.
     
    She was released on a promise to appear in Truro provincial court on May 13.
