Arun Jaitley In Canada: India, Canada Discuss Trade, Investment Opportunities

    inance Minister Arun Jaitley, who is on an official visit to Canada, held discussions here on bilateral opportunities for progressive trade and investment.
     
    Jaitley met his Canadian counterpart Bill Morneau and Chrystia Freeland, Canadian Minister of International Trade, here on Monday to discuss investment opportunities.
     
    "Honoured to welcome Minister Arun Jaitley of India to discuss progressive trade and creating opportunities for Canadians," Freeland said. 
     
    "Important discussions with Jaitley -- a friend and partner of Canada," she added. 
     
    "Looking forward to working together to strengthen our countries' bond," Canadian Finance Minister Bill Morneau said.
     
    Jaitley also held an interactive meeting with Canadian Pension Fund Board members and other fund managers in Toronto.
     
    In the second leg of his trip to the US, Jaitley will attend the annual meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from October 7-9.
     
    Jaitley is on a seven-day official visit to Canada and the US and will return to India on October 10.
