Arsonist Still At Work As Three More Fires Reported In North Vancouver

    VANCOUVER — Three more small fires have been set along a popular hiking trail in North Vancouver, B.C., where about 10 blazes were sparked on Wednesday morning.
     
    The three fires were reported at around 5 p.m. Wednesday, on the Hastings Creek trail, about 200 metres from the first incidents in the Lynn Valley neighbourhood.
     
    North Vancouver RCMP were already investigating the earlier blazes when the new calls came in.
     
    All three fires were doused quickly, as were the 10 that broke out in the morning.
     
    None of the arsons caused a major wildfire, but officials say the woodlands are parched and only vigilant residents and quick action by firefighters averted what could have been a disaster.
     
    Anyone with information that could lead to the arsonist is urged to contact North Vancouver RCMP. (News1130)
