Arrest made in homicide: VPD

Police in Vancouver say they have made an arrest in the stabbing death of a 34-year-old man in the city's Downtown Eastside a year ago.

They say Stephen Crock was found on the sidewalk near East Hastings and Columbia suffering from stab wounds on November 21st, 2023.

Police say Crock was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.

They say the B-C Prosecution Service has now approved a second-degree murder charge against the 23-year-old man, and he will remain in custody until his next court appearance.

Top officials in both Canada and the United States are pushing for the need to finalize the Columbia River Treaty to manage water flowing between the two countries before the administration change in America.
