SAANICH, B.C. — Police say they have arrested a man suspected of setting two high-profile fires in suburban Victoria.
 
The first fire was in April inside a Saanich, B.C., hardware store during business hours.
 
Another blaze in May destroyed an under-construction townhouse complex and forced neighbours from their homes.
 
Investigators say they have spoken to witnesses, reviewed many hours of surveillance video and searched the scenes of both fires.
 
A 57-year-old man was arrested Wednesday and is facing two charges of arson.
 
Acting Sergeant Jereme Leslie with the Saanich Police says the fires caused a significant amount of damage and it is fortunate that no one was injured.
