Arraignments Expected In Montreal After Police Bust Alleged Pedophile Ring

The Canadian Press, 28 Jan, 2016 12:53 PM
MONTREAL — Some or all of the 13 men arrested for allegedly exchanging tips on ways to sexually abuse children are expected to be arraigned in Montreal today.

They were nabbed in Quebec and Toronto on Wednesday after a three-year investigation by Quebec provincial police and the RCMP.

About 150 officers from different forces took part in the raids.

Those arrested are aged between 27 and 74.

It is not clear whether the arraignments will take place in the morning or the afternoon.

A Quebec police spokeswoman said the accused allegedly used online discussion forums to exchange information about their sexual experiences with children and to talk about what tactics to use and where to go to sexually abuse them.
