Architectural Walking Tours Explore Urban History In Victoria, Vancouver

The Canadian Press, 29 Jun, 2016 12:03 PM
VANCOUVER — The Architectural Institute of B.C. is offering guided walking tours in Vancouver and Victoria throughout the summer.

From Vancouver's densely populated West End to trendy Yaletown, the tours highlight the history of districts that also include Gastown, Chinatown, Downtown and Strathcona, the city's first neighbourhood.

In Victoria, Chinatown, Fort Victoria and James Bay, the childhood home of artist Emily Carr, are areas that will be explored.

The twice-daily outings, available in July and August, run 1 1/2 to two hours long and cost $10 a person. In Victoria they're offered on weekends; in Vancouver, from Thursday to Monday.
