Applications Soon To Be Accepted For PM's New Youth Advisory Council

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 19 Jul, 2016 01:15 PM
OTTAWA — Justin Trudeau is seeking input from young people on shaping his national youth council and he's gone to social media to get it.

Applications will begin being accepted later this month for seats on the council, which will advise the prime minister on issues affecting youth, including employment, access to education and climate change.

The application form will be launched on July 22 and anyone between 16 and 24 years of age can apply until Aug. 12.

Successful applicants will be invited to meet with Trudeau in October.

Trudeau opened the program via Twitter and took questions on the council through the same medium.

A second set of applications will be accepted until October 7, with the added members joining the inaugural group for a meeting with the prime minister next year.
