Anti-Refugee Graffiti In Calgary School, Prime Minister Trudeau Says It's Not What Canada All About

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 16 Feb, 2016 12:42 PM
CALGARY — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says anti-refugee graffiti that also calls him a traitor is not indicative of what Canada is all about.

A photo that Global ran of graffiti spray-painted on the side of Wilma Hansen junior high school in Calgary shows the words: "Syrians go home and die."

It also says "Kill the traitor Trudeau."

Global Calgary reported that a viewer had spotted the messages on the weekend.

A tweet from Trudeau on Monday afternoon says: "Canadians have shown the best of our country in welcoming refugees. That spirit won’t be diminished by fear & hate.”

Police have said they are investigating, but have provided no further details.

The walls have been cleaned up.
