Amarpreet Samra, Shakiel Basra Charged In Surrey Schoolyard Shooting

    SURREY, B.C. — Charges have been laid against two men accused in a shooting police say occurred near an elementary school in Surrey, B.C.
     
    RCMP say the Sept. 15 shooting is believed to be linked to ongoing conflicts in the city.
     
    The wanted suspects are 21-year-old Amarpreet Samra of Richmond, B.C., and 21-year-old Shakiel Basra of Delta, B.C.

    They have been charged with two counts each of attempted murder and intentionally discharging a firearm, and Mounties consider then armed and dangerous.
     
    Police say the men are believed to be associated to a light-coloured Jeep with Saskatchewan licence plate 685 JUD.
     
    Both men are South Asian, with Samra described as six feet tall and 141 pounds, and Basra as a six-foot-three-inch man who weighs 150 pounds.
