Amanda Todd Case: Dutch suspect might have targeted other children in Canada

Darpan News Desk IANS, 18 Apr, 2014 01:09 PM

After confirming the arrest of a Netherlands man linked to the online bullying of Amanda Todd, a BC teen, the RCMP is saying that the suspect might have targeted dozens of other Canadian children.

International investigation Insp. Bob Resch said that a majority of the victims identified in Canada are children.

"All the police forces and jurisdictions where those victims are located have been notified and been in contact with those victims and have advanced their investigations accordingly," Resch told media.

It is believed that young people in the Netherlands, Canada, US and UK were targeted and lured into performing sexual acts in front of the webcam.

Amanda Todd, 15, committed suicide in 2012 after getting bullied online. Todd had posted a video of herself before her death, where she revealed that she was blackmailed into exposing herself online.
