IQALUIT, Nunavut — Nunavut is predicting an almost-balanced budget for the coming year with a focus on health and family support services.
Finance Minister Keith Peterson says the territory expects a tiny deficit of $3.9 million on total spending of $1.7 billion.
Spending is to increase by about four per cent.
Health, family services and social assistance are to get the biggest boosts.
Peterson says this year's budget will come in with a narrow surplus.
Nunavut depends on the federal government for about 90 per cent of its budget.
