Mounties in Summerland are warning the public to be on the lookout for a man who was allegedly involved in trying to lure a child.

R-C-M-P say they received a call about a suspicious male approaching a young girl in a local park in Summerland where he asked the child to come with him.

Police say the child declined and the suspect left as the child’s mother approached.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male with long, straggly white hair and is thought to be in his 60s.

A 37-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of a 66-year-old woman in Sicamous.  R-C-M-P say paramedics tried to save Jo Ann Jackson last week when she was found unresponsive in the driveway of a mobile home park, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
