All major routes in and out of Richmond to get to Vancouver International Airport shut down due to a shooting at the airport

Major police incident that has most of the major routes in and out of Richmond currently shut down due to a shooting at the airport.

We are working with the RCMP and responding to reports of a police incident outside YVR main terminal. Please follow here for the latest info — airport is currently open and safe with restricted access, please check with airline for flight information. More updates to come.

UPDATE ON EVOLVING POLICE INCIDENT: We can confirm the situation has been contained at YVR. The airport is open and safe. Flights are operating. We will release more info as it becomes available. Check with your airline on the status of your flight before leaving for YVR.

The Massey Tunnel is completely closed and Northbound Alex Fraser is blocked. Queensborough bridge and Oak St bridge have just re-opened. The Knight Street Bridge is under lock down. Heavy police presence in the area.

Skytrain service has full resumed in relation to all airport routes but expect delays.
