CALGARY — The Alberta government is hoping to cash in on panda-monium.
The province says it will spend $10 million to help expand the Calgary Zoo as it gets ready to host a family of pandas in 2018.
The government says the project will create jobs and bolster tourism.
The Calgary Zoo hopes the popular bears will increase attendance.
The pandas are currently wowing crowds at the Toronto Zoo.
The agreement between the zoos and with China brought giant pandas to Canada for the first time in more than 20 years.
