Alberta Doubles Fund To $9Million To Aid Small-And Medium-Sized Tech Firms

The Canadian Press, 21 Jan, 2016 12:25 PM
EDMONTON — Alberta's economic development minister says additional funding and more advisers will help develop high-tech in the province.

Deron Bilous says funding this year is more than doubling to $9.1 million for a voucher program aimed at small- and medium-sized enterprises.

The program provides vouchers for high-tech businesses to access services such as marketing and planning.

It also assists in product development, testing and prototyping.

Bilous says the province expects to almost double the number of vouchers issued to more than 200 in the next few years.

He says the number of advisers will double to 12 to help companies with technology, business and financial advice.
