  • Air quality advisory issued for parts of Interior BC

Environment Canada has issued an air quality advisory for Prince George and the surrounding area due to high concentrations of coarse particulate matter, or dust.

The weather office says the dust is expected to persist until there is precipitation, suppression, or a change in traffic patterns. 

It says dust levels tend to be highest around busy roads and industrial operations.

It says exposure is particularly concerning for people with chronic conditions, such as asthma, C-O-P-D, heart disease and diabetes, as well as pregnant women, children, and people with respiratory infections.

After the caller provided a description of her surroundings patrol officers arrived on scene and confirmed she was being held inside an apartment unit on Hospital Street against her will. The victim attempted to climb over a balcony, however she was pulled back inside by the suspect.
