Air Canada Introduces Dreamliner On Toronto-Delhi Service

Darpan News Desk IANS, 03 Nov, 2015 11:20 AM
Canadian flag carrier Air Canada on Tuesday said that it has introduced the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft for its new non-stop service between New Delhi and Toronto and it is optimistic about the Indian market.

"The inaugural non-stop flight from Toronto to New Delhi touched down at Indira Gandhi International Airport at 2035 IST on November 2nd and was welcomed by a traditional water cannon shower.

At the bay, passengers were welcomed by Nadir Patel, high commissioner of Canada to India, and a team from Air Canada," the carrier said in a release.

"This is indeed a milestone moment for Air Canada and I believe the beginning of an exciting growth path for the airline in the region," said Duncan Bureau, vice president, global sales, Air Canada.

"The addition of this route is very much aligned with our growth strategy, expanding our network and becoming an international powerhouse. We have had a very positive response from the market ever since we announced this new flight," said Arun Pandeya, country manager, Indian subcontinent.

"We are very keen on encouraging more and more travellers to experience the new, non-stop Dreamliner service and have therefore come out with a very special inaugural fare," he added.
