Ada Guan Who Gave Birth On Air Canada Plane From Calgary To Tokyo Didn't Know She Was Pregnant

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 12 May, 2015 01:45 PM
VANCOUVER — A planeload of passengers aboard an Air Canada flight from Calgary to Tokyo erupted in applause after a healthy baby girl was delivered to an unsuspecting B.C. couple as they crossed the Pacific Ocean.

Media have identified 23-year-old Ada Guan and boyfriend Wesley Branch as the new parents who boarded the May 9 flight unaware she was pregnant.

Arriving passengers told Japan TV station FNN News that Guan was shuttled from economy to business class where a doctor tended to her for about an hour.

One woman smiled brightly and said that everyone clapped when the cute little girl with big eyes was born.

Video shows air attendants pushing the mother in a wheelchair off the plane, followed by the father who stops to wave while carrying the tot swaddled in a white blanket.

A tweet by Air Canada congratulates the mother and daughter, noting they arrived at their destination safe and sound on Mother's Day.
