Abbotsford Shooting Victim JASPREET SIDHU Involved With Gangs: Police

    ABBOTSFORD, B.C. — Police say there is no evidence linking two recent shootings in Abbotsford, B.C., one of which left a young man dead.
     
     
    The Integrated Homicide Investigations Team has identified 18-year-old Jaspreet Sidhu as the man killed in Friday's shooting.
     
     
    Police say officers were called for reports of gunfire and arrived to find a young man suffering gunshot wounds who had crashed his car into the side of a building.
     
     
    Dawn Boldt, the woman whose home Sidhu crashed into, said he was bleeding and sitting up at the wheel of the car. Paramedics carried him through her suite and took him to hospital.
     
     
    "If you are involved in criminal activity then you are not immune to the dangers that come with it," Cpl. Meghan Foster said in a release. "This is another example of a young life that has been lost too soon, and a family that has been left devastated.
     
     
    Sidhu was taken to hospital but died shortly after arriving, and investigators say the shooting appears to be targeted. He was known to police and involved with gangs
     
     
    The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says the shooting appears to be targeted, and investigators are trying to determine motive and the identity of a suspect seen fleeing the scene. The man was seen running away on a pathway on Oriole Crescent after the shooting. He’s described as 5’11” tall, of medium build and wearing black pants and a black, hooded sweatshirt.
     
     
    Abbotsford Police say another shooting took place early Sunday morning, where officers arrived to find an 18-year-old man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
     
     
    The man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and police say that shooting is also believed to be targeted.
