Abbotsford Police Issue Public Warning About Sex Offender James Conway

The Canadian Press, 02 Aug, 2015 10:56 AM
  • Abbotsford Police Issue Public Warning About Sex Offender James Conway
ABBOTSFORD, B.C. — Abbotsford police are warning the public about a convicted sex offender who has moved to the area.

Forty-year-old James Conway is six feet four inches tall, weighs 240 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes.

Police say he has a criminal history that includes convictions for sexual assault, sexual interference, arson, mischief and failure to comply with court order and breach of recognizance.

Officers are asking Abbotsford residents to contact police if Conway is seen violating any of his court-ordered conditions.

He is not allowed to have any contact with children under 18 — including online communication — and is banned from wearing police, fire or other uniforms.

Conway was released from prison in February and was taken back into custody nine days later for allegedly sitting next to a 14-year-old girl on a Surrey bus, even though there were other seats available at the time.
