Abbotsford High School Teacher HENRY KANG Charged With Sexual Offences Involving Two Youths

The Canadian Press, 25 May, 2018 12:20 PM

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. — Police in Abbotsford, B.C., say sex-related charges have been laid against a man who teaches at two high schools in the Fraser Valley city.

Const. Jody Thomas says 50-year-old Henry Kang is charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual exploitation.

Thomas says in a news release that the two complainants were youths at the time of the alleged assaults and specific details will not be released.

She says an investigation began in January into Kang, who teaches at Robert Bateman and W.J. Mouat secondary schools.

The investigation followed an allegation of sexual assault against the Abbotsford resident and police say they want to speak to any other possible victims.

Kang was charged on May 17 and released until his next court appearance on June 28.

As the two victims were youths at the time of these incidents, specific details of the investigation will not be released. Other victims are encouraged to contact APD as soon as possible.

The Abbotsford Police Department asks that anyone with information about this case call 604-859-5225, text 222973 (abbypd), or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
