A 4.5-magnitude earthquake shook off the west coast of Vancouver Island earlier today.
Earthquakes Canada says there have been no reports of damage from the quake that was about 213 kilometres southwest of Port Alice.
It comes less than a week after dozens of people reported feeling a 5.7 magnitude quake that rumbled in the same area. (CTV Vancouver Island)
A 40-year-old pedestrian was struck at 9:30 p.m. while crossing East 1st Avenue at Woodland Drive, suffering life-threatening injuries. She remains at hospital in critical condition. The driver remained at the collision scene, and neither speed nor alcohol are considered factors.
