  • A 4.5-magnitude earthquake registered on the west coast of Vancouver Island

A 4.5-magnitude earthquake shook off the west coast of Vancouver Island earlier today.

Earthquakes Canada says there have been no reports of damage from the quake that was about 213 kilometres southwest of Port Alice. 

It comes less than a week after dozens of people reported feeling a 5.7 magnitude quake that rumbled in the same area. (CTV Vancouver Island)

Two motorcycles were travelling east bound on Fraser Highway approaching 182 street, when they both lost control and struck the center median. The 49 year old male rider of one of the motorcycles was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The other rider, a male, suffered serious injuries.
