Vancouver Police are investigating an attack on a 74-year-old woman, who was shoved to the ground and threatened with a knife while walking in Strathcona Friday night.

The senior was headed to catch a bus around 5:30 p.m. when a stranger pushed her down, threatened her with a knife, and demanded money. The victim began to scream and the suspect fled without getting any cash.

Witnesses came to the victim’s aid after hearing her screams, and VPD officers searched the area, but the suspect has not yet been identified. The victim was shaken up, and has minor cuts and scrapes.

The suspect is a man, possibly in his teens or early 20s, with a medium build and a grey hoodie. He was last seen in the area of Heatley Avenue, near Union and Prior Street.

Witnesses, or anyone with dash-cam video who was in the area around 5:30 p.m. Friday, is asked to call Vancouver Police at 604-717-4022.
