VANCOUVER - A 71-year-old man has died after being knocked to the ground in a collision with a cyclist in Vancouver's Stanley Park.

Police say the man was crossing a street Friday afternoon when he was struck and is believed to have suffered a serious head injury.

He was rushed to hospital, where he died early Saturday morning.

Sgt. Randy Fincham says the 57-year-old cyclist was emotionally shaken but not injured.

He remained at the scene and is co-operating with police.

Fincham says the man is the second pedestrian to die in Vancouver this year.
