66 Gun, Drug Charges Laid, 2 People Charged After Abbotsford Bust

    ABBOTSFORD, B.C. — Police in Abbotsford, B.C., say they have disrupted the drug trade in a bust that has taken narcotics and guns off the streets of that Fraser Valley city.
     
    Const. Ian MacDonald says in a news release that 28-year-old Abbotsford man faces 66 firearms and drug charges stemming from the investigation that ended last week.
     
    Police say 10 warrants were executed, leading to the seizure of 1,000 fentanyl-laced pills, along with cash and numerous firearms.
     
    MacDonald says seized weapons range from a submachine-gun, semi-automatic rifles and pistols to revolvers, and a sawed-off shotgun, along with silencers, magazines and ammunition.
     
    Records show Corey Perkins was due to appear in provincial court in Abbotsford on Tuesday, while police say his alleged associate, 26-year-old Caitlin Bransford, has also been charged. 
     
    Her court date is set for May 30 on a firearms offence and four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin and fentanyl.
