59-year-old Ajastar Singh facing teen sexual assault charges

Surrey RCMP is advising the public that a man has now been charged in connection with a sexual assault investigation which began in May of last year.

On May 4 of last year Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a sexual assault. On July 2nd, 59-year-old Ajastar Singh was charged with sexual assault and sexual interference of a person under the age of 16 years.

On July 4th, Ajastar Singh was arrested for the two offences and appeared in court.

He was released pending a future court date with multiple conditions, some of which include:

not attending at public areas where children under the age of 16 would likely be present;
and not engaging in employment or volunteer work that involves working with children under the age of 16.

Narinder Sandhu is described as a 69 year old South Asian Male. He is 5"7 with a slim build with white facial hair. He is believed to be riding a white Infinity mountain bike. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Narinder Sandhu is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604 599 0502.

British Columbia's government has been fined more than $700,000 after inspectors say they found unsafe wildfire mitigation practices at a site in the province's northeast.
