5 paddlers and a dog rescued from Yukon river

  • 5 paddlers and a dog rescued from Yukon river

Five paddlers and a dog were rescued from Kathleen River in Kluane National Park after they lost their canoe in rough water.

Yukon R-C-M-P say it happened on Saturday when Parks Canada staff were told about the group of stranded paddlers.

They were able to pass along the group's G-P-S co-ordinates thanks to at least one of the paddlers having a communications device with them.

The Mounties rescued everyone, including the pup, with help from a Capital Helicopters pilot and no injuries were reported.
