B.C. announces 497 new cases of COVID-19 and 3 COVID19 related deaths in the last 24 hours for Friday.
The latest cases bring the province to 214,636 confirmed infections since the pandemic began, and 2,293 confirmed deaths.
There are currently 3,420 active cases of COVID-19 in B.C.
That total includes 358 infectious patients in hospital, 109 of them in intensive care units.

Annamie Paul, the Green Party leader, has formally resigned and has also handed in her party membership. Paul says she has sent in a formal resignation letter to the Green Party, which follows her announcement in September of her plans to step down.

According to the pedestrian, as he crossed Bridgeport Rd at Simpson Rd a vehicle allegedly pulled out of a parking lot, striking him, which resulted in him falling to the ground. The pedestrian did not get a good look at the vehicle, however, a witness described the vehicle as a gray SUV.
