3-Year-Old Surrey Girl Dies In Suspicious Circumstances; Homicide Investigators Probing

Darpan News Desk IANS, 15 Feb, 2015 11:48 AM
SURREY, B.C. — Homicide investigators are probing the suspicious death of a three-year-old girl in Surrey, B.C.

Sgt. Stephanie Ashton of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says the girl was rushed to hospital on Wednesday and later died of her injuries.

Ashton says it is early in the investigation and she cannot release many details, including the cause or nature of the girl's injuries.

She says the incident occurred in the 5800 block of 182nd Street in Surrey.

IHIT is working with Surrey RCMP to investigate what led to the child's death, and is asking anyone with information to come forward.

Ashton says that any time IHIT investigates a suspicious death they treat it very seriously, and asks the public to keep in mind a child has died and her family is now dealing with that death.
