R-C-M-P in Surrey say a 34-year-old man has been charged with multiple offences after an investigation that began with a traffic stop last week.

The Mounties say two men were arrested after an officer from New Westminster stopped a vehicle that had been driving erratically just after 2 a-m last Thursday.

They say investigators learned that prior to the traffic stop, there had been an incident in Surrey where a man allegedly threatened another man with a gun.

Police say one man has since been charged with 12 offences, including gun-related offences as well as kidnapping and assault.
