30-Yr-Old Amrendra Vijay Kumar Identified As Latest Targeted Shooting Victim In Surrey, B.C.

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 11 Apr, 2019 06:33 PM

SURREY, B.C. — A 30-year-old man from Surrey, B.C., has been identified as the victim of the latest targeted shooting in that city.

Homicide investigators say Amrendra Vijay Kumar died shortly after he was shot at a townhouse complex in Surrey's Newton neighbourhood.

The attack occurred minutes before midnight on Tuesday and a news release from the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says a vehicle sped away from the scene.

A car, believed to be the same one connected to the shooting, was found burning 10 kilometres away in the Fleetwood neighbourhood less than an hour later.

The remains of the vehicle have been seized for further examination and police are appealing for witnesses or dashcam video.

A motive for Kumar's shooting has not yet been determined.
