Surrey RCMP is informing the public, and requesting help to identify the suspect in a suspicious circumstance that occurred in Guildford.

Shortly after 4:00 pm on April 21, 2021, three young girls were walking home from Riverdale Elementary School when a suspicious man started following them. The youths walked from the school to Holly Park on 148 Street, when the man continued to follow them, they went into a nearby grocery store for help. The man left the area when the girls went into the store.

This incident was reported to Surrey RCMP on April 22, 2021. Investigators are releasing a description of the suspect and asking anyone with information to call surrey RCMP.

The suspect is described as Middle Eastern man, in his late teens or early 20s, approximately 5’10, with black messy hair, a moustache and dark stubble. He was wearing blue jeans, black hoody and red shoes. The male was also seen carrying a blue coloured portable speaker.

In this case these girls did the right thing, says Cst Sarbjit Sangha, Surrey RCMP Media Relations. If you suspect you are being followed go to a safe place, or approach other people in the area, and call police for help.
