The City of Surrey is launching a three-year plan to boost the number of new housing units to an average of more than four thousand per year.
A statement from the City of Surrey says the plan is enabled by 96-million-dollars in federal funding.
The plan aims to increase new unit delivery in the city by almost 28 per cent.
The statement says Surrey plans to improve the development processes for higher-density multi-unit housing projects and adjust zoning in areas around rapid-transit lines.
West Shore R-C-M-P say on June 10, officers in Metchosin near Victoria stopped two cars, including one travelling at almost double the speed limit. Witnesses indicated a white Toyota Tacoma had crashed into a concrete block, which caused the block to strike another vehicle legally parked at the location. The pick-up truck then reversed and collided with a wooden pallet holding construction materials.
A former lawyer in B-C has been suspended for six months and ordered to pay more than 4-thousand dollars for sexually harassing a client. The Law Society of B-C says William James Heflin made "unwelcome comments, advances and physical contact" with a client during an October 2020 meeting at the Victoria courthouse.
