3 new COVID-19 deaths in B.C. for 81 total, says provincial health officer

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 18 Apr, 2020 10:11 PM
  • 3 new COVID-19 deaths in B.C. for 81 total, says provincial health officer

B.C's provincial health officer says three more people in the province have died after testing positive for COVID-19. Dr. Bonnie Henry says the latest deaths came from long-term care facilities and bring the province's total up to 81 deaths. The province has 29 new cases for a total of 1,647.

She says 115 patients are hospitalized with 54 in critical care ICUs. Henry says 987 people are considered fully recovered from the coronavirus.

Health models released Friday showed the province's response to the outbreak has flattened the curve and slowed spread, but says any easing of restrictions will be gradual and thoughtful.
