Darpan News Desk, 22 Dec, 2017 12:34 PM

Montreal police are asking the public for help in finding a 29-year-old Indian origin woman who has been missing since Sunday December 17.

Priti Patel has been missing since Sunday. She had been visiting her family in Saint-Laurent and spent the day watching football with her older brother, Hitesh.

Patel, married for three years and living in Châteauguay with her husband, was visiting her parents and brother at their home in the borough of St-Laurent last weekend. For reasons that have yet to be determined, she suddenly decided to leave the house at about 11 p.m. Sunday.

According to a Facebook post about her disappearance, Patel mentioned that she was going for a walk and left around 11 p.m., and never went back. She left with only a jacket and her cell phone, leaving all her cards, bus pass and ID at the house.

The search for Patel is rendered even more desperate because she suffers from a medical condition and requires daily medication.

Her family said she has never left home for such a long period of time.

"No one's heard from her since so obviously everyone's very worried. It's not typical of Priti to do that," said her sister-in-law Priya Patel.

Patel is 1.65 meters tall (5’5”) and weighs 63.5 kg (140 lbs).

The friends and family of Priti Patel, who disappeared while visiting her family's home in St-Laurent, will conduct a search for her on Saturday morning.
