Premier John Horgan announced extension of the "Circuit Breaker" until May 25th midnight among other restrictions. There are 2,960 new cases of COVID-19 over a 72 hour period. This includes 1,027 cases Fri to Sat, 933 Sat TO Sun and 1,000 new cases Sunday to Monday. There have been 120,040 total cases in BC.

Eight people have died from COVID over the weekend. There have been 1,538 total deaths. An overly emotional Dr. Bonnie Henry shared the news of a 2 year old passing away from the virus. 

There are 441 people in hospital with COVID-19 up 16. There are 137 in ICU, up 10. There are 9,353 active cases and 14,711 in self-isolation.

People aged 40+ can now get vaccinated at local participating pharmacies all over BC.

People 40+ (born in 1981 or earlier) who live in specific high-transmission neighbourhoods are now eligible to receive their COVID-19 vaccines starting this week.

In an effort to get British Columbians sticking closer to home, B.C. also announced that it would soon start issuing fines to people caught travelling outside their health regions without good reason.
