At least 28 passengers were killed and nine others were injured on Thursday as a bus rolled into a 700-metre deep gorge near Khaneri in Rampur area of Shimla on the Hindustan-Tibet National Highway, about 140 km from here.

The private bus was carrying 36 passengers from Reckong Peo in Kinnaur to Nauni in Solan when the accident took place.
