23-Yr-Old Kalwinder Thind Dies After Trying To Break Up Nightclub Brawl

The Canadian Press, 29 Jan, 2018 12:20 PM

VANCOUVER — Police say a 23-year-old man is dead following a fight outside a nightclub in Vancouver.

Sgt. Jason Robillard says in a news release that the fight started at the Cabana Lounge at 1159 Granville Street around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, then spilled out onto the street.

A man working at the club stepped in to break up the brawl and was injured.

Police say Kalwinder Thind died in hospital.

Thind had just started working at the club after leaving his job as a car salesman. Thind’s former co-workers at the car dealership describe him as “full of life.”

The company paid tribute to him on its Facebook page.

"Richmond Chrysler is deeply saddened by the sudden loss of our dear friend, Kal Thind. He worked in our sales department for over 1 year, he was family. His spirit was bright and he was loved by all, gone too soon. Our condolences to his Family and Friends during this difficult time," it reads.
