Police in New Westminster are asking for the public's help identifying a woman who they say stole 20-thousand dollars worth of jewelry from a senior citizen.

They say the victim was approached by a woman in her 30s who gave her fake gold jewelry and stole the senior's rings and necklace. 

Police say the fraudster is described as being between five-foot-two to five-foot-five in height, with a medium build, medium skin tone and was wearing a white head scarf and long white dress.

Investigators say they victim is heartbroken as the jewelry had sentimental value and are asking anyone with information that could lead to the identification of the thief to come forward.
