2 women dead, 1 man critical in Highway 1 pileup east of Revelstoke

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 03 Jan, 2015 10:48 AM

REVELSTOKE, B.C. — Revelstoke RCMP say two women are dead and a man is in critical condition after a four vehicle pileup on the Trans-Canada Highway about 30 kilometres east of Revelstoke.

The crash yesterday afternoon closed the highway in both directions from Revelstoke to Golden for hours, backing traffic up for several kilometres.

Cpl. Thomas Blakney said three pickup trucks and a car were involved in the accident.

Road conditions were slippery at the time, but Blakney wouldn't speculate on whether that was a factor in the crash.

The names of victims have not yet been released, and police say their investigation is continuing.
