Eight people have been arrested after a shooting in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside that police say was targeted.

They say officers responding to reports of shots fired near East Hastings and Columbia yesterday afternoon came upon a chaotic scene as peopled fled the area. 

There they found one man suffering from a gunshot wound, while a second man arrived at hospital later who had also been shot.

Both victims' injuries are believed to be non-life threatening and police say all the people they arrested have since been released pending further investigation.
